The Community Foundation serving the counties of Riverside and San Bernardino is currently accepting proposals for grants from the Youth Grantmakers Fund through February 20, 2012.

The Foundation's Youth Philanthropy Initiative goals are to teach youth to meet community challenges by making grants to projects that address the concerns of youth and instill an ethic of volunteering and giving in the Youth Grantmakers.

The Youth Grantmakers Fund provides grants to nonprofits in Riverside County for projects, programs, and/or activities that address issues facing youth such as alcohol use and drug use, teen pregnancy, academic stress, college/future plans, family neglect and violence, and job availability.

The Youth Grantmakers Committee, consists of 26 local high schools students who review proposals, conduct site visits and recommend grants for funding. The Community Foundation's Board of Directors has final approval of all monies granted.
