Empowering Women Through Philanthropy

Empowering Women Through PhilanthropyOn November 28, TCF’s Women’s Giving Circle brought together 23 women to renew their commitment to the Circle and be inspired by Antonia Hernandez, President and CEO of the California Community Foundation.

Antonia reminded the group of the deeply personal approach that makes a great fundraiser as well as believing in your cause and making friends. She also reminded everyone that when you lead with your passion, you really can’t go wrong. You won’t lose friends and allies, in fact, you’ll grow them.

“There is power in community philanthropy. Women in the Inland Empire have an opportunity to make a greater impact through collective giving, and the Women’s Giving Circle is a great vehicle for creating purposeful and strategic change,” said Celia Cudiamat, Senior Vice President of Grants and Community Impact.

Empowering Women Through PhilanthropyThrough collective giving and fundraising, WGC’s goal is to award grants to nonprofits whose programs and services promote economic security for women and their families in the Inland Empire. Members commit $1,000 a year to be used as funding for the grants and all have a vote in the grant awardees.

If you missed this event, there will be more opportunities for social events and seminars on hot topics relating to philanthropy and economic security for women.
