The Links, Incorporated partners with The Community Foundation!

The LinksThe San Bernardino Valley Chapter of The Links, Incorporated recently announced the opening of The Links Scholarship Fund at The Community Foundation to provide more scholarships to African American students pursuing their higher education.

Over the Mother’s Day weekend, the Links hosted their 40th Annual Scholarship Breakfast Ball, which is one of their highly anticipated events. At the event both TCF Board Member Dr. Paulette Brown Hinds and Kathleen Hall, President, San Bernardino Valley Chapter of The Links, Inc., announced the creation of the new fund.

The LinksThe Scholarship Breakfast Ball awards scholarships to African-American high school seniors and law school students who have demonstrated the capability to overcome obstacles and strive academically. They also honored community leaders who have exemplified the San Bernardino Valley Chapter’s goals and mission, who have worked to serve, lead and educate the next generation of leaders. 

The San Bernardino Valley Chapter is one of 283 chapters of The Links Incorporated. Links has chapters in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and boasts a membership of over 14,000 professional women of color.  The chapter in San Bernardino was chartered in 1979.

The LinksThe Links Inc. is an international, nonprofit corporation established in 1946 and is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women. These women are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. The Links, Inc., mission and purposes is to promote and engage in educational, civic and intercultural activities in order to enrich the lives of members and the larger community, and to work together towards achieving common goals.
