Welcome, New Board Members!

The Foundation is pleased to welcome the addition of two new members to the Board: Jacob Mejia and Joseph Romano. The Board provides leadership for carrying out the Foundation’s mission of Strengthening Inland Southern California Through Philanthropy.”

Jacob Mejia has over 20 years of experience in public affairs. He is currently the Vice Presidents of Public and External Affairs for the Pechanga Development Corporation. Mr. Mejia has also served as executive director of the Tribal Alliance of Sovereign Indian Nations (TASIN) and has helped to position TASIN as a leading voice in California for the rights of Indian Tribes. He has worked to strengthen government-to-government relations between tribes and local governments, helping to form the League of California Cities’ Tribal Task Force and the Riverside County Tribal Task Force.

Joseph RomanoJoseph RomanoJoseph Romano is President, Chief Operating Officer and a Founding Partner of Fortem Financial. Previously, he served as a Managing Director, Partner at HighTower, as well as a First Vice President of Investments at Merrill Lynch. In 2010, he was named one of Palm Springs Life’s ‘40 Under 40’ Professionals to Watch in the Coachella Valley. Mr. Romano is an active member of the prestigious Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and has championed several board ladder positions for his local chapter. He is also an enthusiastic board member for the Patrick Warburton Golf for Kids Celebrity Tournament that benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
