There are three important groups that affect giving at The Community Foundation.

Nonprofit organizations that serve the community in our two-county region have endowed and non-endowed funds at The Community Foundation. Funds are carefully invested in a diverse portfolio of stocks and bonds to generate earnings that will be a permanent or annual source of community capital, helping them to continue their good work. Please visit our Agency Resources to learn more.

Donors have two choices when considering the timing of their gift. Gifts made during their lifetime can be initiated at any time they are ready to make a contribution. Donors can play an active role in directing their gift toward specific organizations or causes and will be able to see the results of their gifts in the community. Or gifts can be made as bequests. Bequests are made through wills or trusts after death. A person can leave their entire estate, a specific amount, or a percentage of their estate to The Community Foundation. This is an especially attractive way to establish a family legacy for the community while minimizing federal estate taxes. Please visit our Donor Resources to learn more about being a donor in your community.

Professional Advisors play a vital role in giving at The Community Foundation. The unsung heroes behind The Community Foundation's success stories are the scores of trust officers, CPAs, CFAs, attorneys, financial advisors and other estate planners who foster the flow of contributions. They're a critical liaison for the Foundation. It's these professionals who get the word out to their clients. Through them, the potential donors first learn how a gift channeled through The Community Foundation can have a profound impact.
