Get gifts. Grow funds. Give grants. Gather people. Guide philanthropy. It's what we do at The Community Foundation. We receive gifts from people from all walks of life. We invest the gifts we receive so they grow. We give grants to nonprofits to help them improve the quality of life in our region. We gather others to work together for impact and we guide work to increase philanthropy in our community.

Giving to The Community Foundation doesn't require great wealth and isn't complicated. Whether you choose to give a gift now or later through your estate plan, you have options. You can:
  • Make a donation now to our Community Impact Fund.
  • Contribute to an existing fund.
  • Establish a fund with the focus of your choice.
  • Arrange a planned gift.

We invest your gifts so they grow and maximize the resources available to us to address community needs. For endowed funds, our investment goals are to preserve the original value of gifts in terms of inflation, and grow our assets as much as market conditions allow so we can:
  • Improve the quality of life in our region by investing in programs that address community needs now.
  • Ensure there will be resources available to address community needs in the future.

The Community Foundation gives grants to 501(c) 3 nonprofit organizations and provides scholarships to deserving students. Grants are divided into several program areas, including:
  • Educational Scholarships
  • Health & Human Services
  • Civic & Environmental Benefit
  • Arts & Culture
  • Children & Families

The Community Foundation acts as a convener, gathering nonprofit organization and community leaders together to discuss and have impact on the most pressing needs of our community.

The Community Foundation also acts as a collaborator, bringing the community together for the joint purpose of improving philanthropy in our region and therefore, increasing the quality of life for us all. Two of our four initiative priorities fall into this category:
